British Columbia based design company Barter seeks to understand the inherent qualities and the potential
of the material that surrounds them. It is this understanding that guides and informs the products they create
and the artists the collaborate with. They believe deeply in telling the stories of these artists; learning their
process and methodologies. The result is a collection of objects that is thoughtful, unique and has a story to tell.
Barter's new, limited edition Revolve series celebrates the Japanese tradition of burnt wood. The ancient
Japanese method of Shou Sugi Ban was used for protection, a way to make wood less susceptible to fire
and to keep away insects and rot. Torching the surface of the wood preserves the material and creates a
beautiful dark texture.
The Revolve series was created in collaboration with Gaile Guevera Design for the recent Taste of Life
Luxury Home and Design show.
Provide is very pleased to present these stunning pieces in our showroom and online.
