Joshua Van Dyke is a Vancouver born artist with a BFA (2007) from the Glasgow School of Art. In his series ‘The Hunt’ used skateboard decks are fashioned into antler and wildlife trophies . Influenced by a connection to materials and the environment, his labour intensive works reprocesses every part of the skateboard, transforming their meaning to convey ideas about, hunting, collection, and display.
Van Dyke has exhibited in Vancouver Glasgow, and Finland. He received an Olympic Torch grant in 2010 for the public art installation ‘Corridor’. He lives and keeps a studio on Bowen Island
