Pauli-Ann's work is drawn from the world at large, and she’s been particularly inspired by the people and landscapes of India, Africa and her home province of British Columbia. Her photographs capture transitory encounters of people, places, colour, texture and light.
The “Svartifoss” series, named after a waterfall in the Skaftafell National Park, Iceland are double exposures of basalt formations and the foliage near the waterfall. The double exposures were shot in-camera and the colour interpretations were created in post production. The original images were intriguing for their direct interpretation of interesting natural formations.
