Awanay

Awanay was founded by the mother-daughter duo Rocía Noya and Silvia Noya and began as a rug studio in Buenos Aires, Argentina sourcing one of a kind handmade rugs. Since then they have grown to include pillows, throws and window coverings. 

Awanay is socially driven, with a focus on employing communities of craftspeople who make their products in the remote Dry Forest and La Puna regions of Northern Argentina. All the wool is produced by small farmers in the weaver’s own communities and every aspect of the production from washing the wool, to spinning, dyeing, and weaving it, is done by hand using traditional methods. This community supply chain employs over 100 families in isolated areas where there is very limited opportunity for local incomes.
